DoseFlow — Privacy Policy
Effective: April 26, 2026
DoseFlow is a personal medication scheduling and reminder app. It is designed to keep your health information on your iPhone. We do not run a server, we do not have user accounts, and we do not collect, sell, or share personal data.
What DoseFlow does
DoseFlow lets you create a medication schedule by typing free-form instructions (for example, “Amoxicillin 500 mg every 8 hours for 7 days”). Your schedule appears in a daily list and can trigger local reminders at the times you set. You can mark doses as taken, edit or delete medications, and review past days.
Data stored on your device
The following information is stored only on your iPhone, in the app’s standard preferences container, and is included in your encrypted device backups (iCloud or local) if you have backups enabled:
- Your medications, dosages, schedules, start dates, and which doses you have marked as taken.
- Your optional OpenAI API key, if you choose to enter one.
- Pending local notifications that iOS schedules on the app’s behalf for upcoming doses.
Removing the app from your iPhone deletes this data from the device. We never receive a copy.
Optional cloud parsing (OpenAI)
DoseFlow can optionally use OpenAI to turn natural-language instructions into a structured schedule. This feature is off by default and only runs after you paste your own OpenAI API key in Settings → AI parsing.
When you use this feature:
- The text you type or paste into the input bar is sent directly from your iPhone to api.openai.com over HTTPS, using your API key.
- When you ask DoseFlow to modify an existing schedule, a compact summary of your current medications (names, dosages, times, and recurrence) is included so the assistant can return an updated list.
- OpenAI processes the request under their own terms and privacy policy. DoseFlow does not have its own server in this path; the request goes from your device to OpenAI and back.
- Responses are cached only in memory for the current app session to avoid duplicate requests. The cache is cleared when the app is closed.
If you do not enter an API key, no text leaves your device and the natural-language input simply will not be parsed.
Notifications
Reminders use iOS local notifications. They are scheduled and delivered by your iPhone. DoseFlow does not use push notifications and does not have a server that could send you messages.
You can allow, silence, or revoke notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.
What we do not do
- We do not operate accounts, sign-in, or cloud sync.
- We do not include analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs.
- We do not access HealthKit, your contacts, your location, your camera, your microphone, or your photo library.
- We do not sell or share your data. There is no data to sell or share.
Children
DoseFlow is intended for adults managing their own medication. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Medical disclaimer
DoseFlow is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always follow the directions of your healthcare professional and the labeling for your medications. Review every parsed schedule for accuracy before relying on it. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the updated version will appear here with a new effective date in a future app release.
